Our Services

The Department of Extended Learning and Community Schools oversees many of the after-school programs in the district. All of the following programs provide DPS students a safe, enriching place to continue their studies, explore new skills and make friends during out-of-school time.

Community Partnerships

  • We work with partners who are committed to providing programs and services to serve the diverse needs of our students. There are currently over 400 community partners who serve DPS students through programs during and outside of school.

Discovery Link & After-school Programs

  • Discovery Link is a licensed before- and after-school care program for school-age children at 36 elementary schools in DPS.
  • Extended Learning provides schools with data and quality supports in after-school programs through the Denver Afterschool Alliance.

 

Volunteer Services

  • This team facilitates more than 500 volunteers who enhance learning opportunities for students throughout the district, and also coordinates all community donations.

Neighborhood Centers

  • Neighborhood Centers work to provide comprehensive programming that meets the need of families and the community. This includes a weekly, licensed before- and after-school program, partnerships with community organizations for diverse enrichment programming, and family and adult programs. A list of enrichment partners can be found in our Afterschool Program Locator.
